The books never really grabbed me because, number one, they're not especially well written, and number two, they started getting WAY too long and therefore HEAVY. I do like the movies though. And my Boo likes to go to movies and operate on very little sleep. On our second date we went to see the midnight showing of The Half Blood Prince (I think. I checked Wikipedia before writing that) and have made it a priority to see the remaining films for a Late Night Date Night. Keeping the magic alive. Haha. Pun.
And I, being the over-booker that I am, spent some time with my friends prior to the movie while Jacobi took a nap. I should have followed his lead...
...The parts I was awake for seemed pretty good. I caught only a portion of the flashbacks, which is disappointing. The last scene, while moderately important to the story arc, was a bit cheesy. I wanted to laugh at Ginny and her big hair. I heard the ending of the saga few years ago, when my sisters both tore through it and had a mini-book club between themselves. During the movie, my buns were happy to stay right in the middle of the seat, rather than on the edge, where they were intended to be.
It's OK, I plan to re-watch it at some point.
So here's to Harray Pottah and his wizarding posse. A butterbeer toast to the final film. Hope they all continue to have steady employment!
