Music Appreciation- Brad Paisley

It seems that my appreciation for music has been on the decline. I promise it's not ACTUALLY on the decline, but nothing has been striking my fancy lately, and therefore, nothing has made it from my brain to the internet.

For some reason (probably the summer-time weather) I've been diggin' some country music (WCOL if you're curious) and especially Mr. Brad Paisley. Historically, I haven't been a country girl, because the message is too often "America and Jesus and cheatin' ways". Thanks, but no thanks.

Brad and his People, however (first name basis, you'll notice), like to pick clever songs, upbeat songs, songs with puns. Much more relateable for me. It's great that he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. (I hope. He could be a prick for all I know.) And the slower, more thoughtful songs are just that- more thoughtful. Also, less specific messaging as in NOT "my trailer and my gun".. Again, relateable!

I recently procured a two disc compilation of his number one songs. And if it hasn't been a number one, I probably wouldn't know it anyway, since it's rare for me to turn on the country station. A country song has to be EVERYWHERE for me to really know anything about it. What I'm trying to say is you've definitely heard these songs and I'm not bringing anything new to your life. Ah, well. Enjoy anyway :)

So, let's toast a Bud Heavy or a Busch Light to Brad Paisley. Those are country-folk approved beverages, right?

P.S. I might be a little scared of poor people. A topic for another day, remind me.
