So far, today is exactly right. The sun is shining and the weather is warm. I just want to be outside taking it all in! The grey season here in Columbus, Ohio is a long one. It lasts from mid-September to May, with rare respites, and today is one of them- a freaking beautiful fall day. I took advantage of a work-errand to enjoy the sun and this month's book club book.
Tonight is my birthday celebration with Friends at the Franklin Park Conservatory, and by now it's pretty obvious how much I love that place. (Don't you hate people who extend their birthday for WEEKS? Who make it more of a birth-MONTH? Yeah, those people are sucky losers. And I'll have NO PART in that...)
Today is also special because I'm wearing some Fly-As-Shit new shoes, accessorizing my Fly-As-Shit new outfit, compliments of my parents.
just FYI, they're cuter in real life. |
The presence of my new shoes makes me think the song below has predictive powers. New Shoes + Smiley Sunshiney Day = This Song. Please listen to it. I don't know if this is a song that people have heard, because I know it from working at Mah-cee's in 2009. They had it on their repeat-hourly-playlist, which I actually loved, except during Christmas. I digress. Listen to this song. I apologize if it's "so overplayed" and no one told me.
HEY, OH MY GOD here's a really pertinent coincidence: The guy who sings the song that is making my day with my new shoes? His name is Paolo. Which is like the Italian version of Paul. And my new shoes? This particular style is called PAULIE PUMP. OMG. It's like the stars and moon have aligned to create a perfect and amazing day for me. (Yes, I've had some java; no, it hasn't been laced with anything...)
I could listen to this song on repeat all day. And I might. Poalo Nutini, New Shoes
