Acclead.

We live in a culture where everything "dies". Our cell phones die, our computers die, our cars die. Do you think it will have an impact on our relationship with death? Our understanding of what it means to be dead? And it's just rhetoric, just a word. People KNOW that a dead cell phone is different than a dead person, but do you think that it could eventually get confused?

Especially for a kiddo who grows up thinking everything "dies". But then somethings get recharged and are no longer dead. Maybe they will develop a misguided understanding of what it means to die?

This is probably not an iamStephanie original thought, but I was just wondering about it. Maybe we should come up with a new word for man-made items that are not functioning. Like, acclead. "Oh sorry, my phone acclead,"..."Crap, I left my lights on over night and now my car is acclead".

I'll work on it and get back to you.
