Disclaimer- I am nervous about posting this post.
Two down, five to go.
Anastasia (Jake's cousin)
Jess (My college friend who I blogged about last week)
Lauren (High school friend, I'm a bridesmaid in this one! Read about her bachelorette party)
Emily ("Grand-little" sorority friend)
Megan (Sorority friend, visit her blog)
Kaylyn (Just got engaged in March! We lived on the same hall freshman year)
Jeremy (The only man of the bunch, also Jake's cousin)
Here's the thing about these weddings. I'm using them. I'm using them to figure out what's good and what's lame. Sometimes I think I'd like to have a big, giant, huge, spare-no-expense wedding because I like nice stuff and people like to go to nice events.
Then sometimes I think "Courthouse it is!" because that would be way less stress and way less dolla' billz. (Although my sisters said that's stupid and so did Jake And I'm sure my mom would feel the same way.)
And the reason any of this is even relevant is because Jake told me he wants to start looking at rings. Like, ENGAGEMENT rings. To get engaged. To get married. To me.
And he said very nice and pretty things. And he maybe mentioned this idea to his family. And he said that he wanted to put a ring on it by the end of 2011.
And I about died out of shock because I felt like that conversation was approximately one year away (if not further.)
This could all change.
There is no formal obligation put forth at this time.
But despite the shock, and my request for an extension on his timeline, I think this might be a good idea...
So exciting!!! :) :)
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, for the future, may I put out a vote for a destination wedding?? You get the fun wedding you would love going to, but without all of the formal hoopla and tradition. Think about it! :)
