ABCs of Thankfulness

After my extended absence and subsequent ranty and self-deprecating post, I feel the need to redeem myself with some happy thoughts. A friend posted her link up to this idea, and so I'm going to connect on it as well. I present to you...

ABC's of Thankfulness - What are you thankful for today?

A
Avocados.
Delicious, nutritious, and presently in season.

B
Book Club.
One of my favorite activities each month. Time to connect with friends, and proof of literacy.

C
Coffee.
Always coffee.

D
Dry shampoo
Washing my hair daily makes it too limp and lame. Dry shampoo saves the day, about four times a week!

E
Engaged
Being engaged is fun. I'm proud to show my ring and to talk about how we met and what our plans are.

F
Friday.

G
Group Texting
WAY better than copy/paste, or retyping everything to all 8 people you want to invite to your party. Also good for family and friend hilarity throughout the day.

H
Helium App on iPhone
So hilarious.

I
Interns.
We have a great intern this summer at work. He's the bomb and is making my life so much easier!

J
Job
Glad to have one that I feel passionate about.

K
Kind Words.
For all the difficult conversations I have at work, there is someone almost every day who tells me I'm doing a good job. That validation and support makes such a difference in my attitude even after the toughest of days.

L
Lime
Tastes so good, especially on pad thai!

M
Mike
He is so sweet and funny. He is wonderful to me and always listens to my needs.

N
New Restaurants
It's so fun to try new places, new menu items and go on adventures off the beaten path.

O
Ohio.
Where I live, where my stuff is. "Stuff" includes people.

P
Parents
Mine, anyway. They're pretty cool and I like them. It's nice to have supportive parents who are also fun to hang out with.

Q
Quiet.
I'm not great with silence, but quiet moments to take a few breaths of fresh air and make a mental note of your surroundings are important.

R
Roof.
Happy for the roof over my head. It's a good lookin' roof too, so I'm extra lucky.

S
Summer.
It's finally on the horizon. Seriously. I am dying for time in the sun.

T
Tickle fights
Producer of most genuine laughter.

U
Ugly Babies.
I know, this sounds terrible, but my friends and I love to look at weird baby pictures. It always gives us the giggles!

V
Vacation
I'm in desperate need of a break, but I know there are many good breaks coming my way int he next few months. I can't wait!

W
Water
Good for the body, good for the soul.

X
Xerox
Ever seen that episode of Mad Men when the secretaries get their first copier in the office? It's a game changer, and I'm glad for this time-saving technology.

Y
Youth
I'm pretty young. I hope I'm doing a good enough job of appreciating my mobility, my beauty, my opportunities.

Z
Zoo
The Columbus Zoo just opened a new exhibit. I haven't been, but I've heard it's great and I'm proud to be from a city that values this resource, giving us one of the top ranked facilities in the country every year.
