Double Comfort

via

When we're all so busy, it can be a challenge to spend quality time with all of the important people in your life. One way that my friends and I make time for each other is Sunday brunch. This morning we tried out Double Comfort in downtown Columbus.

Their menu is Memphis inspired, with an emphasis on fried chicken. As a "carnavoider" I very rarely eat chicken, so I opted for the Mac N Cheese waffle. Let me tell you: this waffle was incredible. It's literally macaroni and cheese, pressed with a Belgian waffle maker. It had a hint of sweetness, and a little spicy sauce on top with scrambled eggs and scallions.

The very best part? A portion of all the sales go to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. I love to support a local business and a local business that turns right about to support the community is forever endearing.

I never remember to take a picture, so I'll thank Double Comfort and their photographers for this one:

We also sampled their beignets- a combination elephant ear / donut hole, and more delicious than either of those. Needless to say, it was not a HEALTHY breakfast.

If you're interested, they also have a great drink menu, including the curious "bucket of mimosas"...

The conversation flowed the food was, clearly, delicious. This was a perfect way to catch up as a group!
