Five Minute Fairy Tales

I promised a story. Seeing that it's pretty much past bedtime and my eyes are almost closed, I think we'll call this a bedtime story.

One bright and unseasonably warm Fall day, a force of the prettiest, smartest and coolest girls in America visited this patio to celebrate the birthday of The Girl. It was there that a handsome, but sweaty Prince sauntered toward the girls, with hopes of sweeping them off of their feet. The Prince, mistaking their kindness for romantic intentions, was emboldened to ask The Girl for a way to be in contact. She obliged with half-hearted expectations.

Despite her initial skepticism, The Girl slowly learned that she enjoyed the company of the Prince. He was charming and patient, with a sense of humor that mirrored her own. Over time she discovered that his heart was pure, his mind was sound, and his intentions were good. As a bonus, his body was well exercised and muscley. She had mistaken the Prince for a frog, but had come to know him for his true valor and strength.

On a rainy night at the start of a new year, the Prince invited The Girl to join him once again on the patio where their story began. The night was dark, the rain fell, and the Prince gallantly opened a car door, offering an arm and an umbrella to The Girl.

It was on this patio that the Prince knelt before The Girl and, with wet eyes (from the rain, of course) asked The Girl to be his bride. The Girl was confident that the Prince was her One True Love. She answered that she would be honored to spend her days by his side.

They shared their happy news with all the land, and lived Happily Ever After.

The end.

Sweet dreams!
