Getting committed isn't easy.
I was recently lucky enough to participate in a local leadership course that didn't really do a great job of building leaders in business or community. As disappointed as I was in the experience, there was one speaker who stood out far above the rest. He was able to engage the members of the class, help us to implement his message and taught us some ways to continue our growth and development as leaders in our respective fields.
I remember how he made us feel, and I remember some of what we did in his session, but the thing that keeps popping up clearly was his message to write. He encouraged each of us to keep notes, saying that writing forces us to clarify our thoughts, which helps define what action we should take. Plus, it's great cognitive practice, right?
In high school I kept a journal. It's basically hilarious to read because, as you can imagine, all the entries are so dramatic and passionate and uninformed. I love to read through a few pages of those journals every now and again because it helps remind me what I've accomplished and where I've grown. They're also good for a laugh, frankly.
Ok, so in conclusion, more blogging. I like have the documentation of my life. Expect ah-mah-zing things. Ah-mah-zing-ISH.
