Today is Day 4 of the "Holy Smokes" Challenge.
So far so good. I rode my bike to work today, which took nearly an hour. I'm not really looking forward to riding it home, because my legs are so fried from three days of leg working out. Yesterday I had every intention of doing my upper body work out, but realized that neither Mike nor I has a pull-up bar that I can install in my doorway. I have zero interest in buying one because I've already spent more on this challenge than I did for two years of gym membership. That's not a lie!
The cost of the project is more than I would normally incur for much of anything, but with my #NOtivation, I knew I needed something more serious to kick me in the pants. The money in, and the personal connection I have with Char, my "trainer", are both enough to keep me from being lazy and to keep me committed for the next 26 days.
Here's a picture of my bike at work today. When my bike was stolen last August, I mourned the loss for nearly a year before being able to choose a new one. I have attachment issues- I get overly endeared to inanimate objects (oh, are you sad about that $1 picture frame? Or about those strawberries your boyfriend tossed down the sink without a second thought? I am...)
