Same suit, different day

A photo posted by Matilda Kahl (@lilltrill) on
Driving home from work today, I heard an interview with Matilda Kahl about an article she wrote for Harper's Bazaar. Matilda, an art director, decided to wear the same outfit to work every day, and she's been doing it for over three years.

Read her essay here.

She says it's improved her life by freeing up space in her mind and in her day to focus on other, more critical activities. She points out that men have this idea down pat- dark suit, white shirt, tie. Choosing an outfit that stands out takes up so much more time and effort than I'd like. It would be nice to have a go-to "uniform" to slip into each day.

I never wore a school uniform. Whenever the topic of uniforms came up in my high school, friends would shudder at the idea of wearing the SAME thing EVERY day, and never being able to stand out. As someone who has never had an easy time in the morning, a uniform has always seemed like a pretty swell idea.

I'm truly considering take this plunge.

Would you try it?
